You should also bear in mind, that marble worktops are more exposed to scratching, mechanical damage than let’s say granite tops. Which is why, a lot of food preparation should not be done directly on the worktop, particularly chopping or slicing. If you settle upon a marble worktop, you should provide yourself with a chopping board.
